It is a relief that my son does not fancy strange food concoctions. However, there are only three things that seem to be no-miss wonders when it comes to his very selective palate--1) Noodles; 2) Chocolates; and 3) Ice Cream.

Haligilet adores noodles in every flavor, shape, size, length and color. Check him out eating Pad Thai at dinnertime! He has, by the way, mastered the art of avoiding meat and vegetables. Noodles lang, ayos na. Please excuse the way he holds his spoon, though. Kailangan pa ng finishing school :D

Haligilet takes after me when it comes to obsession with chocolates and ice cream. I remember when I was still carrying him in my womb, I could finish one pint of strawberry Haagen Dazs in one sitting! Check him out getting a medley of chocolate and ice cream, all in one go. My make up kit is a melting pot of brands. I have no brand loyalty at all. My kit is bursting with pots, powders, brushes and glosses even if I usually end up using only 5-6 pieces daily. Call me weird but I guess I find satisfaction in the exercise of choosing. This echoes my (bad) packing habit. As my husband, Haligi, puts it, I am the exact opposit of traveling light--literally and figuratively. Hmmmppph!

Dear God,

We pray that you comfort each bereaved family everyday as they grieved for their loss, we pray that you will supply all their needs, we pray for the survivors that they may have a good life after the tragedy, that you will bless them and let them know in the deepest part of their heart that in spite of what have happened, you LOVE and CARE for them. What was I doing 10 years ago?

At this time of year, at the bank I used to work for, I was probably busy preparing for the bank's anniverary celebration which involved writing up a speech for the bank president, organizing employee awarding ceremonies.

A gym freak, I was also hitting the gym 4-5 times a week, which I don't have the time of day for, now (Yeah! Yeah!).

And no, haven't met Haligi then.

Maver's Ref Door Entry

Our ref door functions like a passport as it is stamped with souvenirs from all the places our family has been to--holidays in Asia, my local travel assignments and some from my ils' international cruises. What better way to remind us of great times and travel than having everything plastered all over our ref door?

Notice that there is a growing school of fish on it, since Pinoys seem to manufacture fish magnets "by default," and just etch the name of the province/city to complete the picture. The latest addition to our collection, is that third magnet from the left, at the last row. I bought it during my trip last week, to CWC in Camsur, to cover the World Wake Park Championships--a first in Asia.

The bottom half of the ref functions as Haligilet's playground. As you can see, he can be quite territorial--spelling out his name at the ref door, as if to stake a claim on the space. He actually used the letter "Z" and rotated it 90 degrees to have it function as an "N." Odeva, resourceful! He also spelled out JP, the name of his closest friend in school; and LBC, because he always sees it on the pouches of his maver's multiply purchases. Mwahaha.

That's it, pancit. :D What's on yours?

MY BOY'S TOYS

The Answers:

As far as we were concerned, Haligilet was pretty "low maintenance" when it came to toys. He was content with playing with even just a spoon, a box or even tissue! Rather than splurge on the latest educational games for kids, Haligi and I deemed it best to shower our son with something priceless--hugs, kisses, bedtime stories, laughter, and lotsa memories!

However, Haligilet did have his faves, which shifted quickly, just like Philippine politics! Hehehe.

Here they are, categorized, in random order:

The plushies. Haligilet loved these to bits for a time. They were his bed buddies, giggle mates, and occasionally, they became his naptime nibblers. The toughies. Made of hard plastic, these toys have stood the test of time and teething. Hehehe! And then there were cars...in every make, color, shape, state, size.
They have won his heart, hands down.

1. How did you meet your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend?

Haligi and I (almost never) met on the eve of December 12, 1999. We met through a common college friend. We actually went to the same university, were students of the same college, ate at the same college canteen, but were only destined to meet 6 years later.

2. Where did you go on your first date?

Our first date was supposed to be at Cafe Breton, Makati, but Haligi went to Cafe Breton MALATE, and boy was he LATE! :D He finally met up with me and our common friend, hours later, at Bistro 110, which is (still) located on the same street as our current residence. The earth literally shook (earthquke magnitude 6.8) hours after we first met.

3. When was your first intimate kiss

Feb 5, 2000, with a neoprint as proof. Hehehe

4. How many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she had in the past? Do you honestly know?

Blackjack -- 21! The important thing is, I was his LAST :D

5. What is his/her ethnicity?

Pinoy, 5'5 with heels.

6. What is his/her favorite food

Anything cholesterol-ly.

7. What is he/she like if he/she is mad?

Red as a tomato. And seems to me, I'm the only one who can make him that angry. But as they always put it--when there's anger, there's passion! :D

8. What are the things he/she did you thought is the most romantic thing he’d/she’d ever done?

He lived in the province--a good 2-3-hour drive from Manila, when we were still dating. One time, he told me he was sending me something through his best friend and that I should meet his friend at my office lobby. It turned out that the "friend," was actually him, armed with a bouquet of stargazers. I chose stargazers for my wedding bouquet

9. Describe how he/you proposed to you.

No frills. He proposed to me the day he arrived from a two-month vacation in the US (sobra yata ako na-miss, :P) He proposed to me in front of the salesladies, while I was buying shoes at Duty Free. Hahaha!

10. What was your funniest wedding moment?

This wins, hands down...

Instant weight loss; And now that we're at it, a brand new unlocked phone :)

Just got one on the lips from Haligilet awhile ago, but woudn't mind getting another one anytime soon. Settled for an over-the-air kiss from Haligi last night :(

Everyday, every time I walk home from work. Both the mall and the condo are a few blocks away from the office.

Hit the beach for a few days. Hoping to make one final trip before Haligilet's school starts.
