SSSHHH!!!

With all the binging I did over the holidays, I should probably get started on the magic of hoodia gordonii. However, I find myself proscrastinating (as always). Stress levels ran high last December that I am more inclined to take a breather and recharge. So folks, please bear with me. This blog is taking a quick snooze. Be back in jiffy!!!

SOUNDPROOF

Back in the day, when custom laptops were most probably still unheard of, my maver usually relied on those ever dependable cotton balls to calm my and my sister's beating hearts on New Year's Eve. Now tell me, who needs those cotton balls to protect the little ones when greeting the coming year, if you can have these today...Whistlebombs away!!!

GONE

I'm sorry that this blog has been inactive for quite some time. And it looks like I have another reason to go on blogging hiatus once again.

You see, our family is in mourning. Our best mutt, Hugo, died of old age yesterday. He was 12...or the equivalent of 84 man years.

This is the last photo I have of Hugo--most appropriate actually as it was taken a few moments before his death. He was trying hard to stay the same alive, alert and attentive bff to me on his last day on earth, even if he was in obvious pain. Huhuhu.

I am not ashamed to admit that I am in deep sorrow. After all, I have lost my most loyal, most loving, most unconditional pal in the world.

I couldn't help but smile (and weep) remembering how Hugo always had his way of giving joy to our life. He was our consistent entertainer, our uncomplaining shock absorber, our dependable "resbak" (he saved my mom from a pitbull attack, wudjubilib?!?!) and our family's No. 1 fan. It was 12 years well-spent, dear Hugo. Thank you for everything!

So please bear with me. I have got to push the pause button on my online (and offline) life once again. Funny posts, merry making, even the Haligilet's psp activities would have to be put on hold, as we all grieve.

We will miss you, Hugo. We love you.

IT'S RAINING MEN

Allelujia!I have to hand it to my office bud, A, for pulling off this Azkal greeting line-up for me. Fact is, this is probably one of the bestest Christmas gifts I received this Yuletide.

Wherever you are, whatever language you speak, Merry Christmas, jour après Noël, Joyeux Noel, Shinnen omedeto. Kurisumasu Omedeto, Feliz Navidad to all of you!

ANYBODY HOME?!?

For the nth time, my apologies.

Things have been a blur the past few days because of personal and professional concerns that I have neglected my online home. As you can see, I am still dusting all the cobwebs.

I can't say I am 100% back in circulation but just to give you an idea of how busy things have been, let me count the ways...

  • We've been taking the Haligilet on rounds of big school exams. Hopefully, we will find the perfect school fit for him soon.
  • The Haligilet was a star performer in their school's agape reenactment. The hilar thing is, he never passed the bread on to others. He finished it all by himself. Lol!
  • My dad's vision is being challenged by diabetes again :(
  • We just adopted a new siamese cat, Jessie (inspired by Toy Story). Being the "only girl" among the strays that have called our yard their home, Jessie was fortunate enough to be welcomed indoors. The two other cats (literal and figurative cats aka male cats), Woody and Buzz, stay in our yard.
  • Aside from this new living baby, I also have new "babies" which I will blog about in a separate (secret) post.
  • I am now on my quest for Starbucks planner No. 5 and you know the drill guys--planner giveaway coming up soon!
  • The Haligi and I mark our 7th wedding anniversary today.
  • Our family just signed up for our first marathon for 2011--a must especially since we've been bombarded by news of strokes and deaths amongst friends and family. The Haligi is even thinking about getting a road bike with a matching a thule bike rack but I said, not just yet.
  • As for work, it is still the usual bucket load of challenges and stress but I am not complaining. I still consider myself extremely blessed compared to others who aren't so lucky.

There are many other things I would want to blog about but they will have to wait. This is just my not-so-short way of saying that I am still alive.

See you around!
