iPHONE KILLER ON THE LOOSE

Word is out that Nokia is unleashing an exceptional touch phone to possibly counter the iPhone phenomenon. Dubbed as Nokia 5800 Tube, it is designed accordingly to the shape and size of iPhone, with similar functionalities. I was extremely excited upon hearing this bit of news. I bet, not too long from now, a comprehensive review on the Nokia mobile software and hardware of the Tube will be posted at MobUniverse.com, an interesting tech blog on anything mobile-related--from mobile wallpapers, themes, and so much more. The site has indeed been a handy reference for me, especially since I work in the telco industry.

An iPhone challenger is indeed what the shrinking touchscreen phone pie needs. Ultimately, the advent of another gizmo in this "elite" arena would benefit mobile users, giving them more units and brands to choose from, and hopefully, would effect a reduction in phone prices.

Industry insiders have given us a first crack at the Tube specs:

It is expected to be released somewhere in the last quarter of 2008, which, by the way, starts on Wednesday! :D Let the duel begin.
